Golfing and your Palm organizer (continued)

Golf cart mounting systems
Revolve Design and CaddyMasters have recently each introduced new golf cart mounting systems for Palm connected organizers. Both products mount to the steering wheel of motorized golf carts.

Revolve's system, shown in Figure J, is based upon the modular UniMount design that provides compatibility with their broadbase of other products. UniMount-for-Golf comes with a custom baseplate for mounting their professionally molded Palm device caddy to the golf cart's steering wheel. The baseplate includes two vertically mounted Velcro straps that secures the baseplate up and under the cart's scorecard clip. Once the baseplate is mounted, the UniMount caddy attaches to the baseplate. UniMount-for-Golf offers quick release tension clips for easy Palm removal, space for two spare batteries and an extra pen-like stylus. UniMount-for-Golf's suggested retail price is $49.95

CaddyMasters designed their Pro Caddy system specifically for mounting Palm connected organizers to motorized golf carts. CaddyMaster uses a one-piece "sleeve" design that allowed my Palm III to slide down into their mounting cradle, as shown in Figure K. Use care as you slide your Palm device into the mount so you don't scratch your Palm organizer's plastic. The Pro Caddy is made of rust-proof stainless steel electrocoated with a black expoxy powder coat.

Like with UniMount, the cradle is then secured up and under the cart's scorecard clip using two horizontally mounted Velcro straps. These straps attach to each side of the cart's steering wheel for positioning, as shown in Figure L. The Pro Caddy comes in a nice carrying case and has a suggested retail price of $45.95
