The bottom line
This year, my holiday shopping will be a lot easier. I found the IntelliGolf Birdie edition software to be well worth its $39.95 list price. All components, the handheld software, the desktop software, and the Internet golf course uploads and downloads performed flawlessly. It was easy to upload and download courses from IntelliGolf's Internet server and to use all of the handheld's and desktop's features. The breadth and depth of the 40 categories of golfing statistics helped me to identify my golfing strengths and areas needing improvement. I was pleased to find that most of the popular wagering games we traditionally played were included. This added some friendly competition to our foursome which made our golf day even more enjoyable. IntelliGolf is Platinum Certified and claims to be in use by golfers in over 40 countries around the world.

Both golf cart systems worked well. Revolve Design's UniMount-for-Golf product is based upon a two-piece professionally molded design that complements their other product offerings. The UniMount baseplate snugs up and under the cart's scorecard clip using vertical Velcro straps. This design really seemed to secure my Palm III to the cart's steering wheel. CaddyMasters' Pro Caddy uses a one-piece sleeve design that allowed my Palm III to rest in their caddy. Their one-piece design also mounted up and under the cart's scorecard clip and used horizontally mounted Velcro straps for positioning. UniMount-for-Golf is priced at $49.95 and Pro Caddy is priced at $45.95. Which mount you choose is more a matter of personal taste rather than function, since both were quite useful.
