FROM THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
How have we helped?
By David Gewirtz

As the head of a small company, I have many roles. Most of you have gotten to know me as the Editor-in-Chief of PalmPower, where my job is to determine editorial direction, manage the editorial staff, and write industry analysis and editorials.

"I'm looking for great, one or two paragraph statements about how much you like PalmPower."

I've been very active in another of my jobs: that of company Chairman. In that role, I'm working with investment bankers, financial, and legal advisors. As we try to grow ZATZ (and we've grown 174% in Internet revenues in the past year - all on our own fuel), one of the rites of passage is the creation of an up-to-date business plan.

In theory, a business plan is a document that helps map out where the company is going, its markets, direction, competition, financial structure, and the like. It's meant to be a guide for managers and it's meant to be a guide for prospective investors. In reality, a business plan is also a marketing document. It's a tool that helps investors see our vision, learn about our successes, and experience our dream. It's also a tool that's supposed to make them believe they'll become filthy rich if they just invest a few million here and a few million there. (I never liked the term "filthy rich". I always figured that if I got sufficiently wealthy, I'd still continue to take regular showers. Seriously, though, I frankly don't think there's anything inherently dirty about money…like any other tool, it's all about how you use it).

Anyway, back to our story. I need your help with the business plan. Ever since we launched the publication, we've gotten really amazing letters about how much you like what we're doing. Here's one of my favorites:

Thank you for the fine job on your electronic magazine. I don't know how much feedback you get, but I wanted to at least let you know that one reader lives and breathes your every word daily. I rely very much on your great articles and information. Keep up the great work!!

We'll be including many of these in our business plan. But I'd like more. I'm looking for great, one or two paragraph statements about how much you like PalmPower. I'd also like statements about how PalmPower has helped you or how you've benefited from the publication. If you're a fan of the ads, please let us know as well. And, if it turns out you're affiliated with a well-known organization or you're a well-known personality (and I've met a bunch of you), I'd definitely appreciate a good word, suitable for inclusion.

If you do decide to write something up for us, please know that we'll choose the testimonials most appropriate to the context and include them in our business plan and other promotional stuff. We won't publish email addresses, so you don't need to worry about spam.

Please send your letters to david@palmpower.com. As always, thanks for helping make PalmPower such a success and thanks for your ongoing support. Keep those cards and letters coming!
