Attack of the Star Wars themed Palm OS software
By Steve Niles

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones opens on May 16, 2002. We here at PalmPower are very excited. Judging by the number of Star Wars related applications there are, we imagine a good number of you are pretty excited too. If you're not, you might as well turn back now, because the software below is definitely for hardcore fans.

Okay, if you're still with me, let's hop into our Republic cruiser (pictured in Figure A), and take off into the universe of Star Wars applications for the Palm OS.

Guides
With Episode II mere days away, it might be a good time to brush up on the events of The Phantom Menace. You could pop in the DVD, which is what I'm going to do, but if you don't have time, software developer Michael Ryan has a solution. At http://www.eurocool.com/author/?author=9158, you'll find his Phantom Menace Guide, complete with graphics, as shown in Figure B.

FIGURE B

Brush up with the Phantom Menace Guide.

You can read all about the characters and locations from the movie and learn about the different orders of the Force.

Michael Ryan also offers a Jedi Council Guide (at http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?prodID=3622), pictured in Figure C.

FIGURE C

Get up close and personal with the members of the Jedi Council.

In The Phantom Menace, about all we learned about the twelve members of the council was that they enjoyed comfortable chairs. Finally, in Episode II, we get to see them in action, as they engage in battle against the Trade Federation's army of Battle Droids, as shown in Figure D.

So, while you may be familiar with the likes of Mace Windu and Yoda (pictured in Figure E), how much do you really know about the other members of the council, such as Ki-Adi-Mundi, Kit Fisto, or Plo Koon.

The Jedi Council Guide provides information about the members' backgrounds and provides pictures so that you can put a face to a name.

You can't view the graphics, however, if you use the program with any DOC reader other than TealDOC (at http://www.tealpoint.com/softdoc.htm). This is true for both the Phantom Menace Guide and the Jedi Council Guide.

Wisdom
As we walk down the road of life, we all face difficult choices. Perhaps our choices aren't as severe as whether or not to join the Dark Side, but they're important nonetheless. It certainly couldn't hurt to consult the wisdom of the great and powerful Jedi.
