PALMPOWER SITE OF THE MONTH
A Palm III journal
By Heather McDaniel
When Greg McKinney bought his Palm III in May 1999, he decided to keep a journal online that contains notes, reviews, and his thoughts on using the Palm III.
The site started out as a bunch of his personal notes. He wanted to be able to access them from anywhere, so he put them online. Now anyone can see what he does with his device. This may not seem exciting at first, but it turns out to be pretty useful because you can get ideas on what you can do with your favorite device. While Greg's journal is written with the Palm III in mind, you can still see what products work well and what products need improvement, even if you use other devices.
Figure A illustrates that the reviews are mostly for freeware and shareware products. He also has reviews of a few games. His reviews are interesting because not only does he give an honest opinion, he'll occasionally get a response from the developers and post them on the site.

Greg McKinney's site includes reviews of products for his Palm III device. Click picture for a larger image.
There's also a links page of Palm related resources and products. These are mostly links to products he reviewed on his site.
Greg says that his site "reflects the community atmosphere of the Palm developers and users. Now, in what other computing platform can some guy that has never used a device correspond so freely with the people that write the software?"
That's a good question.
