One of the aspects of Yoga that I find most interesting is the study of the seven energy centers of the human body, or chakras, as they are called. The word chakra is Sanskrit for disk or wheel and originated within the philosophy of the ancient yoga systems of India. Each of the chakras relates to an aspect of living that's part of our human programming. Each has its own color and interpretation. Being attuned to a specific chakra is said to avoid imbalances and heighten perception. I hope you enjoy this lighthearted journey through the chakras as they relate to your Palm handheld.

Chakra one: start with a solid foundation
Chakra one is called Muladhara, which means root. It is located at the base of the spine, and forms our foundation. It represents the element earth and our physical identity, which is oriented toward self-preservation. Therefore, it's related to our survival instincts, our sense of grounding, our connection to our bodies, and the physical plane. Ideally this chakra brings us health, prosperity, security, and dynamic presence. The color red, cedar wood, onyx, ruby, and garnet are associated with chakra one.
